Rosemarie Easterling, age 87, was called to her heavenly home at 5:29 a.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2023, Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Medical Center with her family by her side.
Rosemarie was born October 6, 1935, in Utica, MI, to the late Alexander and Mary Skiba. On April 12, 1969 she married C. Michael Easterling who preceded her in death on November 1, 2006.
Rosemarie was a 1953 graduate of Utica High School, Utica, MI. She retired in 2000 after 45 years of service from General Dynamics, where was employed as an Accounting Supervisor. Rosemarie was a dedicated volunteer for St. Rita’s Medical Center gift shop for over 20 years and St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. She loved to travel and had visited 48 states, England, and Europe with her husband, children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing cards, listening and dancing to polka music and cooking traditional Polish dishes. Rosemarie always had a smile to share and cared for others more than herself. She especially loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, neighbors and friends.
She is survived by her two children, Richard (Cathy) Easterling of Pittsburgh, PA, and Cynthia “Cyndi” Easterling of Warren, MI; three granddaughters, Kate, Sara and Meredith Easterling; sister-in-law, Mary Beth Easterling of Wilder, KY and brother-in-law, Dick (Brenda) Easterling of Avon Park, FL.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Richard Culton.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 23, 2023, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 2200 W. Elm Street, Lima, Ohio 45805. Father Kent Kaufman will officiate the service. Entombment will follow in Gethsemani Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, January 22, 2023, at CHILES – LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL and from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Monday, prior to the service at the church. A Rosary Service will begin at 7:30 p.m. following the visitation on Sunday.
