Doris Ruth Moser Brubaker, 82, passed away on December 9, 2021. She was born on November 16, 1939, in Croghan, NY to Daniel and Catherine (Widrick) Moser, who both preceded her in death. On June 4, 1963, she married David Brubaker, who preceded her in death on February 16, 2016. She was the last survivor of seven siblings. She leaves two children: Amy Brubaker and Joyce (Kim) Trytten, both of Cincinnati; three grandchildren: Erica (Garrison) Franklin, Hanna (Jesse) Hornbaker, and Kelly Trytten; and six great grandchildren: Danny, Logan, Mason, and Ella Hornbaker, and Jameson and Jacoby Franklin. Doris’s love for baking and cooking was superseded only by her love for God, her family and friends. Her greatest joy was when she was able to care for others. She worked in daycares, cooked supper for Wednesday night church gatherings, and showed her humble servant’s heart in a thousand other ways over her lifetime. She was a loving and generous woman who will be missed by all who knew her. A family service will be held in Croghan, NY this summer for her beloved nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 :00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at Pike Mennonite Church, 3995 McBride Road, Lima, Ohio, with Pastor Richard Jueckstock, officiating. The family will receive friends at the church for one hour prior to the services on Wednesday. Interment in Pike Mennonite Cemetery immediately following the service.
