Vivian M. Kruse

ELIDA — Vivian M. Kruse, 87, passed away at 4:00 a.m. April 2, 2021 at The Springs of Lima.
Vivian was born June 14, 1934 in Lenoir, NC to Melvin and Cora Mae (Summerlin) Jenkins who preceded
her in death. On June 10, 1956 she married Thomas E. Kruse, her husband of over 60 years, who passed
away in 2019.

Vivian graduated Mars Hill and Furman Universities, and was employed at Allen County Social Services
as well as an English teacher at Elida High School. She was an active member of First Baptist Church
Lima, and sang in the choir for many years. She was also a volunteer at St Rita’s Hospital. She enjoyed
singing and playing the piano, reading and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her two sons, Steven Kruse and David (Juanita) Kruse of Wake Forest, NC, a
granddaughter, Brittany (Adam) Dorband, two grandsons, Daniel Kruse and Brian Kruse, two great-
grandchild, Hayden and Karlsson Dorband, and a sister-in-law, Janice (Bill) Good of Elida.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 5, 2021 from 11:30-12:30 at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL HOME, SHAWNEE CHAPEL. Burial will be in Elida Greenlawn Cemetery immediately follwing the visitation.
