Carolyn Blank Anspach Rose, age 88, of Bluffton, died at 11:04 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 13, 2021, at Willow Ridge.
She was born on August 28, 1932, in McConnelsville, Morgan County, OH to Harold E. Blank and Coral Margaret Ohler. She was a graduate of Ada High School and attended Ohio Northern University. Carolyn worked at Colonial Finance in Lima as a billing clerk for three years. Later she worked at Superior Coach and Sheller Globe for eighteen years.
On October 19, 1952, she married George Anspach Jr., who preceded her in death May 3, 1962. Carolyn married William Rose August 28, 1982, and he also preceded her in death on July 16, 2010. She is survived by three daughters, Susan Cammeresi of Westfield, IN, Karen (Michael) Bott of Westerville, OH and Debra Ehrenberg of Worthington, OH. She was proud to have seven grandchildren: Sid (Sara) Cammeresi, Valerie (Scott) Lambert, Ian Bott, Richard Bott, David Ehrenberg, III, George Ehrenberg and Ashleigh (John) Haldeman and twelve great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a half sister Nancy Blank Driscoll of Raleigh, N.C. She was preceded in death by a sister Betty Blank Jones and a great-granddaughter, Emily Haldeman.
Carolyn was a member of Shawnee Community United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Susannah Russell Chapter and later the Lima Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution since joining in 1985. She was extremely proud to have had marked and dedicated her 5th great grandfather’s grave (Cap’t John Kirkpatrick) in New Jersey.
Carolyn had volunteered at the Christian Corners Soup Kitchen for twenty years. She also enjoyed her volunteer work at the Allen County Council on Aging. She had served on the Board of Directors of Superior Federal Credit Union.
In her spare time Carolyn enjoyed knitting and sewing, reading her Amish themed books and shopping for antiques. Her interest in genealogy was unlimited. She and Bill also loved traveling in their motor home.
Her visitation will be on Wednesday, February 17th, 2021, from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m., at the Shawnee Chapel of Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Tom Dearth officiating in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Lafayette Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson’s Society.
