Mark Bryan McSwiney, age 76, passed away May 27, 2019, at 4:25 am, at Lima Rehab & Nursing Center in Lima, OH.
Mark was born March 13, 1943, in Nashville, TN, to Harry Doyle McSwiney and Sarah Lorraine (Stewart) McSwiney, both now deceased. Mark, a lifelong bachelor, is survived by three brothers and one sister. He is also survived by three nephews and two nieces and their offspring.
Mark spent his early years in Nashville, moving to Roanoke, Virginia in his twenties. There he was a communications engineer and electrician for his working life. Mark was also an accomplished musician and played electric bass with many groups for the years he was resident in Roanoke. He enjoyed performing in a 50’s Rock Group and a Jazz ensemble.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 1:00 pm at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Nashville, TN. Officiating the Mass will be Fr. Pien Tran. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery following the Mass. Military honors will be provided by the U.S. Army and the local American Legion in Nashville.
