William Patrick “Pat” Linehan Jr., age 78, passed away on Memorial Day May 30th 2022 at 6:00 AM.

Pat was born March 15th, 1944 in Lima, OH to William Patrick “Bill” and Katherine P. (Hug) Linehan who preceded him in death. On July 8, 1977 he married the love of his life, Nancy Linehan (Hawkins).

His work experience included the community action commission, Lima Central Catholic building committee, General Tire, and Firestone Tires of Lima.

He retired from The Lima Refinery after 30 years of service, and went on to retire again from the local Ford Motor Company Engine Plant.

He was just 1 semester short of receiving his MBA at St. Josephs college in Rensselaer Indiana, when he was drafted in 1968 to the US Army. He was chosen for Officer Candidate School at Fort Benning, Georgia and graduated as a 2nd lieutenant.

He was sent to Vietnam where he was assigned to military intelligence. During his tenure there he was promoted to First lieutenant and received several awards for his exemplary service, including the Bronze Star.

His pride in his military service and love of country never ebbed as was exemplified by his daily display of the American Flag at his home.

With no complaints, and no hesitation, if you asked him he would say in a heartbeat, he would serve his country all over again.

He was a quiet, soft spoken, but stern and passionate Irish Catholic family man.

Praying the rosary was on his agenda everyday along with saying I love you to those around him.

He was a notoriously fierce loving, dedicated, and hardworking father, with a knack for fixing anything and everything he put his hands on.
