William “Bill” L. Schimpf, age 59, passed away March 18, 2022, at 8:29 pm, at his residence surrounded by his family. Bill was born October 18, 1962 in Bellefontaine, OH, to William H. and Ruth A. (Gilmore) Schimpf. His father preceded him in death and his mother survives in Lima. On October 15, 1988, he married Brenda L. (Wechta) Schimpf who survives in Lima.
Bill was a 1981 graduate of Elida High School. He was an avid Chicago Bears, Columbus Blue Jackets and Ohio State Buckeys fan. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and close friends.
In addition to his wife and mother, Bill is survived by his 2 sons: Luke Schimpf of Lima, OH and Kyle Schimpf of Findlay, OH, a granddaughter, Alexis Schimpf, 8 siblings: Mike (Sandy) Schimpf of Lima, OH, Debbie (Bruce) Higgins of Linden, MI, Beth (Mike) Wechta of Bluffton, OH, Diane Evans of Lima, OH, Sharon Jahnz of Lima, OH, Andy (Laurette) Schimpf of Gomer, OH, John Schimpf of Lima, OH and Chris (Britt) Schimpf of Elida, OH.
Following Bill’s wishes there will not be any services held at this time but a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Burial of cremated remains will be held privately at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to CHP Hospice. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.chiles-lamanfh.com.
