William “Bill” Keith Swickrath, 70, was born July 24, 1951, he passed away in the presence of his loving family on December 8, 2021, in Lima, OH, following complications after a medical procedure.
Bill lived in Elida, OH, where he and his brothers founded Swickrath’s, Inc. auto-repair shop in 1973. Bill retired in 2006 from the Ford Motor Company after thirty three years of service. Bill was an ardent fan of The Ohio State University athletics with all three children graduating from the University. Bill was also passionate about tinkering, woodworking, building the best looking and fastest racing Soap Box Derby cars with his kids, and traveling to Florida with his family. He now resides in Heaven drinking Bud Light with his Labrador retriever Buckeye (Buck) as they prepare for the Rose Bowl.
Bill is preceded in death by his father Norman and mother Wanda and his brother Paul (Jan).
He is survived by his wife of forty one years, Mary Pam (Diepenbrock) Swickrath, daughter Carla, and sons Michael (Amber), and Jared. Bill has five grandsons Brycen, Wyatt, Dexter, Colton, and Gabriel. Bill is also survived by his brother,
Dan (Shirley) and sister Tina (Bill) Kluge; In-laws, Rosan VanderHagen, Ben (Patty) Diepenbrock and Steve (Myra) Diepenbrock.
The family extends its sincere gratitude for the care and compassion provided by the St. Rita’s Sixth Floor Nursing Unit and the Hospice Care Team.
The family will hold a private service at a later date.
