William “Bill” A. Deitsch, age 85, passed away October 15, 2021, at 3:40 pm, at his residence. Bill was born December 29, 1935, in Saint Mary’s, OH, to Lloyd J. and Ethel N. (McDonald) Deitsch who preceded him in death. On June 1, 1958, he married Louann E.(Maier) Deitsch who survives in Lima.
Bill was a 1954 graduate of Memorial High School, Saint Mary’s, OH. After high school he joined the U.S. Army where he served for two years in Germany in the Engineering Division. Once he returned home he began working as a plumber and then later became a commercial pipe-fitter which he retired in 2002. Bill was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by his children: Bart (Tamela) Deitsch of Lima, OH, Lynne Deitsch-Scott of Scottsdale, AZ, Scott (Louann) Deitsch of Bluffton, OH and Steve (Christina) Deitsch of Orting, WA, 9 grandchildren: Laurie (Steve) Dunahay, Vanessa Deitsch, Jared Deitsch, William Deitsch, Dustan Thompson, Brandon Thompson, Rhoda Thompson, Mariah (Kasey) Almy and Sierra (Kevin) Fairley, 11 great grandchildren: Lucas, Aiden, Gabriel, Ben, Gage, Wyatt, Dakota, Aleah, Zekey, La’Vie and Sage, a brother, Robert (Sharon) Deitsch of Saint Mary’s, OH and a sister in-law, Susan Deitsch of Lima, OH. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Donald Deitsch and Lloyd (Bonnie) Deitsch.
Following Bill’s wishes, there will not be any services held at this time. A private burial of cremated remains will be held privately at a later date in Resthaven Cemetery, Moulton, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Rita’s Hospice. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff with hospice; Kim, Dawn, Jennifer and Maggie for the tremendous care and compassion extended to Bill and his family during this difficult time.
