William “Bill” A. Reeder Jr., age 70, passed away December 27, 2022, at 12:03 am, in the Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Medical Center E.D. Bill was born February 22, 1952, in Toledo, OH, to William A. Reeder and Norma Jean (Kuntzman) Reeder-Paren who both preceded him in death. On September 10, 1977, he married Myrle “Sue” (Cunningham) Reeder who survives in Lima.
In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by his children: Ellece (Kenneth) Joiner, William W. (Mary) Reeder and Shawn (Nikki Rodriguez) Reeder all of Lima, OH, 4 grandchildren: Tayla Sperl, Dakota Reeder, Aiden Reeder and Rorke Dunlap and a sister, Sheryl Beckwith of Swanton, OH.
Bill was a 1971 graduate of Roy C. Start High School. Bill had worked for the State of Ohio with the Toledo Mental Health Center and then transferred to Oakwood Correctional where he worked as a psychological attendant for 35 years retiring in 2014. Bill was a member of the St. Gerard’s Catholic Church and the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed radio controlled vehicles of all types and enjoyed his time with his LARK buddies. Bill loved anything sci-fi, The Ohio State Buckeyes but most of all, spending time with his grandchildren and his dog “Pixie”.
There will be a memorial service held on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at 1:00 pm at the CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, EASTSIDE CHAPEL. Officiating the service will be his brother in-law Fr. Nick Cunningham. Burial of cremated remains will be held privately at a later date.
Friends may visit on Tuesday from 12 noon until the time of the service at the EASTSIDE CHAPEL. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.chiles-lamanfh.com.
