Wilbur (Bill) Lawrence passed away December 18, 2020 at his home in Florence, AZ. Bill was the oldest son of Edgar & Irene Lawrence who preceded him in death, as did his two brothers Cloyd & Lloyd. Bill’s son-in-law Steven Jordan, Sr. also preceded him in death.
Bill married Lucille Gossard and they had one daughter Deborah (Debbie) Jordan-Mineo (Vincent). Bill was extremely proud of his three grandchildren, Mindy Jordan Johnson (Kevin), Steven Jordan, Jr. (Stephanie), Jamie Jordan Stack (Michael), and his seven great grandchildren. Lucille preceded him in death as well.
Bill was a proud Army veteran and Eastern Star member. He gave a life of service to Lima City Schools & Lima Memorial Hospital, as well as being a member of the Winter Church group at Caliente & the Lutheran Summer Church group in Coolidge. Bill and Lucille traveled extensively, enjoying polka dancing clubs and playing bingo.
There will be a service held on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at 12 noon at the CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, EASTSIDE CHAPEL. Officiating the service will be his grandson Steve Jordan. The service may also be viewed in live-stream format by going to the Chiles-Laman Funeral Home website and scroll to the bottom of the page and clicking on the Facebook icon and then scroll to the video section to view the service. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery following the services where military honors will be provided by the VFW #1275 and the U.S. Army.
Friends may call from 11:00 am until the time of the service at the Eastside Chapel. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to 100 Club of Arizona. Online Condolences may be expressed at www.chiles-lamanfh.com.
