Warren E. Buchanan, age 84, passed away July 10, 2021, at 10:15 pm, at Mercy Health St. Rita’s Medical Center.

Warren was born September 29, 1936 in Lima, OH, to Howard Buchanan and Irene (McKenzie) Cassidy, both of whom preceded him in death. On June 21, 1958 he married Helen (Scott) Buchanan who preceded him in death on March 8, 2008. He worked at Superior Coach from 1958 until 1971 and then he retired from Dana Corporation after 25 years of service. He was passionate about being a hard worker and providing for his family. He was a member of Lima Baptist Temple, where he greatly enjoyed attending, and also volunteered at St. Rita’s Medical Center for a time. He was skilled at bowling and was a member of many bowling leagues over the years. He loved dogs, fixing things, and going on walks in the great outdoors. He greatly enjoyed fishing, especially when he had the opportunity to travel to lake Michigan with his beloved wife, Helen. He was known for his humor, jokes, and clever one-liners. He loved to make people laugh and he always had a silly song to add into a conversation. He was filled with joy and had a talent for passing this joy on to everyone in his life. Warren cherished his family above all else, especially his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was an exceptional man, and will be greatly missed by all those who were fortunate enough to know him.
