Walter F. Altenburger, 91, passed away at 10:05 am, November 20, 2022, at Taylor Place Assisted Living in Findlay.

He was born July 14, 1931 in Gomer to George W. and Mary Matilda (Freiberger) Altenburger who preceded him in death. On December 1, 1973 he married Helen I. Bowersock who passed away on October 3, 1989. On November 16, 1991 he married Sandra Brenner who survives in Findlay.

Walter retired as an assembly worker from Ford Motor Company. He was a US Marine Corp Veteran of the Korean War, a member of BPOElks 54, FOEagles 370, Moose Lodge 199, and Knights of Columbus 1362, Delphos. He loved dancing and playing cards.

Survivors include: a Son, Bob (Marquien Walters) Hartman of Findlay; 2 Daughters, Sally (Robert) Conrad of Buckeye, AZ and Lisa (Cecil) Kitts of Vermillion; 4 Grandchildren; 6 Great-Grandchildren; a Step-Daughter, Ellen (Chris) Baker of Lima; a Step-Son, James Easton of Las Vegas, NV.

Preceded in death by: 2 Brothers, Ralph and Raymond Altenburger; 4 Sisters, Lucille Neumeier, Dorothy Keko, Ruby Hooker, and Vera Tenwalde; and a Grandson.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am Friday, November 25, 2022 at St. Charles Catholic Church with Father Kent Kaufman officiating. Entombment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery where Military Honors will be conducted by the US Marines and VFW Post 1275. CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES are honored to be in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Charles Catholic Church or the American Cancer Society.
