Vickie hired me as a new college graduate as the ACCESS Coordinator, that was almost 30 years ago. She was a mentor and friend. Vickie set the stage for me to become a passionate dedicated advocate for those with special needs. She always spoke the truth, did the right thing , allowed others to bloom and grow under her watch both professionally and personally. I am so sorry for your loss, she will be missed. Her face always lit up when talking about you all, her family. She had a spirit like no other, she drew people in and made people want to make this a better world. I have such wonderful memories with Hope, Pauline, Lena, Vickie in the front office of Marimor school, solving the problems of the world, sharing special stories and having some great laughs. She worked hard and expected the same of others but also knew how to play hard and have fun. She made more of an impact than I am sure she ever knew on my life. She will be missed. I worked with Vickie at Marimor School in the 90's. I always had a deep admiration for her knowledge and expertise. She was also a lady who said what she thought - not what she thought you wanted to hear. I reconnected with her via phone about 2 years ago when she saw my picture in the Otterbein Newsletter as a new employee. It was great to hear from her. We said we would do lunch. I never called her back to schedule that lunch. Great Lady that I had the privilege to work for. Prayers for the family.
