Vernon “Vernie” R. Clark, age 66, passed away on February 21, 2023, at 5:16 am, at the Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Medical Center. Vernon was born October 26, 1956, in Lima, OH, to Kenneth W. Clark and Pearl P. (Sawmiller) Clark-Augsburger who preceded him in death. On March 1, 2003, he married Joyce A. (Byrne) Clark who survives in Lima.
In addition to his wife, Vernon is also survived by his children: Mathew Clark of Lima, OH, David Clark of Lima, OH, Shannon Colley of Lima, OH and Christy Colley of Findlay, OH, his siblings: Melvin Clark of Lima, OH, Pauline (Roy) McDaries of Delta, OH, Mayo Tattersall of Toledo, OH and Gary (Charlie) Augsburger of Lima, OH, 7 grandchildren: Ayden Clark, Jazmon Simpson, Jaden Bridge, Devin Colley, Justin Clapper, Alexander Bragoon and Gabriella Gremlin, 4 great grandchildren: Khali, Khion, Kaiden and Khozyn. He was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth (Judy) Clark, a sister in-law, Mary Clark and a brother in-law, Bill Tattersall.
Vernon was a 1977 graduate of Bath High School and had attended UNOH where he earned a certificate in auto-diesel. Vernon had worked for RTA where he started as a mechanic and ended his career as a bus driver retiring in 2018. Vernon loved working on cars, wood working and any outdoor activities including; boating, camping and fishing. He loved his time on the lake with family at Coldwater, MI and Indian Lake. He dearly loved his dog, “Bella”.
There will be a funeral service held on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, EASTSIDE CHAPEL. Officiating the service will be Rev. Lori Wright. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery following the service.
Friends may visit on Saturday from 9 a.m.-11:00 a.m. at the EASTSIDE CHAPEL. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.chiles-lamanfh.com.
