Thomas “Tom” G. Frueh, 71, passed away on October 25, 2022, at 10:39 pm, at Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.
Tom was born June 22, 1951 in Lima, OH, to Eugene C. and Ruth R. (Sunderhaus) Frueh who both preceded him in death. On July 27, 2013 he married Sharon (Lucke) Frueh who survives in Delphos, OH.
Tom graduated from Lima Central Catholic High School in 1969. He became the patriarch of the family when his father passed away when Tom was at the age of 12. One of his first jobs was as a paperboy for the Lima News. He then enjoyed working at Diller-Texaco with his Frueh cousins. Tom was best known for working at Ford Motor Company and retired after thirty-five years of service. A little known fact about his Ford days he was an exceptional euchre player. He was an avid Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Football Fan. Tom liked doing various sudoku and crosswords. Tom always enjoyed spending time with his family and watching his grandchildren “Grandpa Daycare” when he had the chance. He was a kind man that helped anyone in need and will truly be missed.
Tom is survived by his wife, Sharon Frueh of Delphos, OH, children, William “Bill” Frueh of Lima, OH, Cynthia (Brian) Kennedy of Cridersville, OH, Paula (Brian) Core of Lima, OH, Debra (Matthew) McGrail of South Dennis, MA, step-children, Kimberly Bruns of Van Wert, OH, Edith Brown of Van Wert, OH, Joe (Tammy) Bruns of Van Wert, OH, Deborah (Joshua Johnson) Ferguson of Parma, OH, Melissa (Jason Markley) Kerns of Grover Hill, OH, Tiffany Cairo of Austin, TX, siblings, Linda (John) Rice of Lima, OH, Patricia (Larry) Briggs of Lima, OH, Marcia (Ron) Conner of Wickenburg, AZ, Michael Frueh of Lima, OH, Denise Jankow of Lima, OH, Eugene “Groamy” Frueh of Lima, OH, grandchildren, Caitlin Frueh, Landon Kennedy, Brandt Kennedy, Brianna Kennedy, Gavin Frueh, Brayden McGrail, step-grandchildren, Morgan Adam, Ethan Brown, Wesley Ferguson, Nichole Ferguson, Krista Markley, Reece Olwin, Kortni Hall and Deon Kidd-Riley and great-granddaughter, Ellie Adam.
He is preceded in death by his previous wife, Linda (Triplett) Frueh and his nephew, Michael Conner.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 31, 2022 at 10:00 am at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services – Shawnee Chapel. Father Kent Kaufman to officiate the service. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery in Middle Point, OH following the service.
Visitation will be Sunday, October 30, 2022, 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services – Shawnee Chapel.
