Therese “Terri” A. O’Brien, 63, of Dublin, formerly of Lima, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2020, at 3:18 a.m. at The James Cancer Hospital, Columbus.
Terri was born July 17, 1957 in Lima to John and Audrey (Fisher) Link, who preceded her in death. On Aug. 28, 1976, she married James Patrick O’Brien, who survives in Dublin.
Also surviving are two children: Rene’ (Jeffrey) Smith of Marysville and Shawn O’Brien of Dublin; seven siblings: Jeannie (Phil) Buggle of Tempe, AZ, Ed (Mary) Link of Dayton, Susan Tambon of Lima, Jerry (Julie) Link of Sheboygan, WI, Jim (Amy) Link, Jack (Beth Edwards) Link and Mark (Susan) Link all of Lima; two grandchildren: Colton and Bryana Smith and numerous nieces and nephews; and a brother-in-law, David Turley of Lima.
She was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church, Lima and St. Christopher Catholic Church, Columbus. She was office manager for Knisley Law Office in Columbus. She had previously worked at St. Rose Parish for 30+ years. She loved to cook for her large family, host the family gatherings and loved spending time with her extended family. She loved calligraphy, piano, dancing, music and eating at Bandidos. She helped to raise a million dollars for the St. Rose Endowment Fund and was a past member of L.C.C. School Board. She ran the BINGO program at St. Rose Church and was on the Parish Festival Committee. She was the cook and server for the Lima Deanery for the Priests’ dinner. She attended St. Rose Elementary School and was a 1976 graduate of Lima Central Catholic High School. Most of all, she cherished her grandchildren.
Terri’s Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m. Monday, Dec. 14th, 2020 at St. Rose Catholic Church, with Fr. David Ross, Msgr. Christopher Vasko, Fr. Jim Hunt and Fr. J. Norbert Howe officiating. Live streaming of Mass will be on stroselimaohio.org. Entombment will follow in Gethsemani Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be on Sunday, Dec. 13th, from 2-6 p.m. at the Shawnee Chapel of Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Services, and again on Monday from 9:00-9:30 a.m. at the funeral home before prayers. A parish wake service will be held at the funeral home at 6:00 p.m. Sunday.
