Thelma Alice Johnston, age 100 of Lima, passed away August 25, 2022, at 12:18 am, Springview Manor Nursing Home.

She was born October 5, 1921 in Lima, to Carl and Alice (Doolittle) Corrello who preceded her in death. On August 5, 1943, she married Thomas Johnston who preceded her in death on March 28, 1957.

Surviving are her daughters: Alice H. Rohrer of Gahanna, Myra L. (Tarry) Moneer and Diana M. (Arthur dec’d) Caulfield both of Lima, five grandchildren: Ann (Mike) Conley, Susan Kenney, Alisa Jessee, Ben Jessee, Kathryn Jessee, Kelly Clemens; great-grandchildren: Megan Conley, Lauren Conley, Madison Kenney, Logan Kenney, Aidan Jessee, Keegin Jessee, Courtney Clemens and Jacob Clemens. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Helen Corrello of Lima and Mary Lou Corrello of Quincy, IL.

She is preceded in death by the following siblings: George Corrello, Margaret Werking, Robert Corrello, Mary Armstrong, Carl E. Corrello, Norma Baker, Clyde Eugene Corrello and Chester Corrello.

Thelma was the oldest member of South Side Christian Church, a member of the Mary Martha Class and was also a former deaconess. She retired in 1987 after 30 years of service as a dietary supervisor at Lima Memorial Hospital, and volunteered for another 25 years after.

Services will begin at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2022 at South Side Christian Church, with Rev. Todd Cosart officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Meals to Monday.
