Teunis “Ties” “Dutch” Wapperom, 93, of Lima passed away at 11:24 AM on Friday, April 16, 2021 at The Springs of Lima.

He was born on August 19, 1927 in Rotterdam, Netherlands to Teunis and Grietje (VanNess) Wapperom, who both preceded him in death. On February 9, 1950, he married Dirkje “Dicky” Hak, who survives in Lima.

Dutch had worked at Meadow Gold Dairy, after immigrating to the United States in 1953. He then worked at Scot Lad Foods as the head mechanic and retired in 1984. Also during that time he owned and operated his own car lot, Holland Motor Sales.

He enjoyed camping and traveling all over the US with his wife in his motor home. He loved old cars and talking to everyone, he didn’t know a stranger.

He is survived of his loving wife Dirkje “Dicky” Wapperom of Lima; his son Randolph (Dawn) Wapperom of Dublin, OH; his daughters Veronica (Dennis) Collier of Canal Winchester, OH and Monique (Dennis) Bryan of Lima; his grandchildren Michael (Jessica) Collier, Ryan B. (Elizabeth) Collier, Christopher (Rachel) Bryan and Nicholas (Sean) Bryan; his honorary grandson Robbie Luxford; his great-grandchildren Bryan, Lila, Dylan, Merida and Zoey Collier, Declan, Piper, Kinley Bryan.

He was preceded in death by his stillborn son; his great-grandchild Harper Bryan.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL, where funeral services will immediately follow at 12:00 PM.

Interment will be in Bluelick Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio, in memory of Harper Bryan.
