Teresa “Terri” Marie (Jaminet) Danik, 70, died January 5, 2023 from complications of pneumonia while on vacation in Reykjavik, Iceland.

Terri was born on February 22, 1952 in Detroit, Michigan to Aloysius and Eleanor (Schulte) Jaminet. She was married to her high school sweetheart and love of her life Frank (Francis) Danik. She held her masters in social work, and later worked from home raising her two daughters, Sarah and Elizabeth and being a “second mom” to many, many of their friends. More recently, Terri has held her most beloved title of grandmother to her three beautiful grandchildren, Ella (5), Theo (2) and Lucy (1).

Terri had a strong Catholic faith and loved the Lord and Blessed Mother. She spent countless hours over the years volunteering in the Bath School District, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, including as part of the Core Team for the church’s LifeTeen program, and for many other organizations and activities. She was active in a local book group and investment club. Terri also loved to travel with Frank, and had spent the past few years filling her passport with stamps from around the world. You could always count on sharing a wonderful conversation with Terri, over a coffee or wine – in person or on the phone. She was a best friend and second mother to many.

Terri is greatly missed by her children, Sarah and Nick von Fischer, Elizabeth and Joel Mtunga and her grandchildren, Ella, Theo and Lucy. She was also a beloved sister to her siblings Robert (Cecelia) Jaminet, Jerome (Jeri) Jaminet, Thomas Jaminet, Patricia (Richard) Augustyn, Lawrence Jaminet and David Jaminet.

She was preceded in death by her sister Marilyn (Jerome) Palka and her parents Aloysius and Eleanor Jaminet.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL 7 CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL, where a wake service will be held at 7:00 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, where the family will also receive friends from 10:00 AM until the Mass at 11:00 AM.

Entombment will be in Gethsemani Cemetery Mausoleum at a later date at the convenience of the family.
