Susan Kay “Sue” Keller, age 80, was called home at 6:15 p.m Friday, November 19, 2021, at Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Medical Center with the love of her family by her side.
Susan was born October 16, 1941 in Lima, OH, to Harry and Hazel Maxine (Dickson) Kurtz. On May 27, 1963 she married Robert Keller who survives in Lima.
Susan was a 1959 graduate of Spencerville High School. She had worked several years as a cook at the Lima Manor Nursing Home. Susan was a proud and dedicated mom and grandma, who especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by three children, Melody Keller, Samuel Keller and Michael Keller all of Lima; five grandchildren, Brian Keller of Lima, Adam Phillips of Columbus, Bridgette Neibarger of Mt. Vernon, Landon Keller of Delaware, and Marcus Keller of Lima; ten great-grandchildren, Tyanna Morgan, Brian Keller, Jr., Kaydence Keller, Liam Keller, Amarah Gooden, Ameer’a Gooden, Amurajhe Gooden, Laila Sroufe, Adrianne Neibarger, and Paige Neibarger; two sisters, Sondra Oakman of Columbia TN, and Cheryl Point of Lima; 22 nieces and nephews, and many great nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her dad, Harry Kurtz; mom, Maxine (Dickson) Kurtz Matthewson; step-dad , William Matthewson; step-mom, Dorothy Kurtz; two brothers, Harry Eugene “Red” Kurtz, Larry Kurtz and two sisters, Harriett Kurtz, and Phyllis Nance.
Funeral services will begin at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at CHILES – LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL. Burial of cremated remains will be at a later date in Salem Westminster Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 24, prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
