Susan “Sue” Diane Adams, age 77, passed away May 19, 2022, at 8:39 pm, at her residence surrounded by her family. Sue was born September 22, 1944, in Nyack, NY, to Roy C. and Beatrice P. (Frisinger) McClure who preceded her in death. On October 2, 1965, she married Walter D. Adams Jr. who survives in Lima.
Sue was a 1962 graduate of Lima Senior High School. She then graduated from The Ohio State University where she earned a Mechanical Engineering degree. She spent her career working as a mechanical engineer with the Ford Motor Co. from which she retired in 2004 after 30 years of dedicated service. Sue was a longtime member of the Shawnee United Methodist Church. She also was a member of the Lima Garden Club. She was a very creative person including everything from gardening, quilting, toll painting, rug hooking to sewing. She will be remembered as being a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
In addition to her husband, Sue is survived by her children: Diana (Matt) Bosch of Dallas, TX, Rebecca (Dave) Shenk of Lima, OH and Jay (Dr. Nancy) Adams of Cincinnati, OH, 5 grandchildren: Adam Bosch, Connor (Lauren) Bosch, Caitlyn (John) May, Lydia (Samuel Hougland) Shenk, Levi Shenk, a great grandson, Oliver Bosch, a sister, Barbara Baker of Ft. Worth, TX and a sister in-law and brother in-law, Linda and Don Bruns of Sarasota, FL. She was preceded in death by a brother in-law, Thomas Baker.
There will be a funeral service held on Friday, May 27, 2022 at 11:00 am at the CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL. Officiating the service will be Pastor Bryan Bucher and Pastor Lori Reiber. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery following the service.
Friends may visit on Thursday from 5-8 pm at the SHAWNEE CHAPEL. Memorial contributions may be made to the Stefanie Spielman Comprehensive Breast Center @ 1145 Olentangy River Rd., Columbus, OH 43212. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.chiles-lamanfh.com.
