Shirley A. (McGullion) Baker, 78, of Lima went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ at 10:15 PM on Friday, November 2, 2018 at St. Rita’s Medical Center.
She was born on March 5, 1940 in Lima, to Orba A. and Pauline H. (Cunningham) McGullion, who both preceded her in death. On November 28, 1958, she married Thomas E. Baker, who preceded her in death on July 15, 2006.
Shirley was a 1958 graduate of Lima Senior High School. She was a homemaker and a part-time employee of Dr. Kenneth M. Clemens, D.D.S. for many years. She was a longtime member of Shawnee United Methodist Church, where she was in the choir and volunteered for the Share Circle for many years and served on their board. Shirley was also a volunteer at Lima Memorial Hospital in the 1970’s. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star; Trinity Chapter #16, Lima and Order of the Rainbow For Girls Assembly #78.
Survivors include two sons William R. “Bill” Baker and Donald R. “Don” Baker both of Lima; her grandchildren Rachel (Todd) Sowers of South Dakota, Nicole (Tyler) Ambrose of Oklahoma and Taylor Baker of Cincinnati; her great-grandchildren Hayden Parker Sowers, Mia Jordann Sowers, Hunter Wyatt Sowers, Riley Ambrose and Ethan Ambrose; her nephews Mark (Deb) Baker, Tim Baker, Steve (Heather) Baker, Mark, Shane and Michael McGullion; her sister-in-law Janie Baker of Elida.
She was preceded in death by her brother Kenneth A. McGullion; her brother-in-law Robert Baker.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 and from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL, with Rev. Bryan Bucher, officiating.
Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery immediately following the services.
Memorial contributions may be made to Shawnee United Methodist Church.
