Sheila N. Miller, age 80, was called into her Heavenly Home at 10:02 p.m. on Sunday, November 27, 2022, at Lima Memorial Health Systems with the love of her family by her side.

Sheila was born February 13, 1942, in Lima, OH, to the late William and Harriet (Roush) Glancy. On June 25, 1960, she married Lyle M. “Bud” Miller who preceded her in death on October 18, 2013.

She was a 1960 graduate of Lima Senior High School and retired from Bath Schools after 27 years, where she served as a secretary in the administration office. She was a member of the Bath Community Band and was a volunteer at Lima Memorial Health Systems where she was awarded the Lima Memorial Lifetime Membership Award in 2021. She also volunteered in the Surgery Center at Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Medical Center. Sheila was Past President of the ALCO Sertoma Club and also served as President of La Sertoma. She had previously been honored as La Sertoma Woman of the Year. She was a member of Sigma Beta Sorority since 1962 and had been involved with the Allen County Junior Miss Program since its beginning. She retired from Junior Miss after working with it for over 42 years. She had served as the General Chairperson for many years and had judged many county junior miss programs throughout the state of Ohio. Sheila enjoyed and was proud of her involvement in the Lima and Bath communities. She was a lifelong active member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, where she had served on the Altar Guild and as its Directress many times. She had also served as President of the church council and taught Sunday School and Catechism for many years. She and her late husband, Bud were associate members of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Venice, FL, where she served as an Usher, Greeter and on the Altar Guild in the winters.

She is survived by her 2 daughters, Marcy (Brian) Reeves and Mindy (Steve) Wise both of Lima; 7 grandchildren, Eric (Ashley) Wise, Marla (Cory) Saffle, Matthew (Victoria) Wise, Jared Metzger, Kyle Wise, Lexi (Anthony Lanagan) Reeves and Brianna Reeves; 4 great grandchildren, Chloe, Gray, Colt and Sage Wise; sister, Joyce (Dick) Cira, 2 sisters-in-law, Connie Glancy and Diana Miller and her beloved Yorkie, Posey.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a brother, William Glancy; brother-in-law, Bruce Miller and sister-in-law, Marlene (Robert) Gross.

Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 1, 2022, at St. Lukes Lutheran Church, 209 W. North St, Lima, OH 45801. Pastor Steve Nelson will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 30, at CHILES – LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church.
