Samuel J. Guagenti, 88, of Lima passed away at 2:01 PM on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at his residence.

He was born in Lima, Ohio to Joseph and Tillie (Zerante) Guagenti, who both preceded him in death. He married Rosalie Guagenti and she preceded him in death on October 17, 1993. In 1997, he married Denise McIntire, who survives in Lima.

Sam was retired from C & G Distributors, where he had served as the owner/president. He was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church. He was a past president of Wholesale Beer & Wine Association and CIAO.

Surviving are his children Sam J. (Diane) Guagenti of North Royalton, Ohio, Mark (Lyn Dunbar) Guagenti of Lima and Dona (Ron) Williams of Lima; his grandchildren Samantha, Jacob, Thomas and Rosie Williams, Allison, Danielle and Nicholas Guagenti, Cameron, Christian and Salvatore Guagenti. He is also survived by his brother Louis (Phyllis) Guagenti of Lima and his sisters-in-law Tiz Guagenti and Ann Guagenti, both of Lima.

He was preceded in death by his brothers Joe (Barb) Guagenti, John Guagenti and Francis Guagenti; his sister Gena (Dr. Gene) CaJacob.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, March 3, 2023 at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL, where a parish wake service will follow at 8:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Lima Central Catholic.

Interment will be in Gethsemani Cemetery at a later date at the convenience of the family.
