Ruth A. Edwards, age 71, passed away November 14, 2021, at 6:24 a.m. at Lima Memorial Health System.

Ruth was born on April 15, 1950 in Lima, OH, to William and Elizabeth Stanyer who preceded her in death. On March 24, 1997 she married Curtis Edwards who survives in Lima.

She had a passion for riding motorcycles and greatly enjoyed traveling the open roads all over the country with her husband. She loved being in the great outdoors and especially enjoyed gardening, bird watching from her front porch, and in her younger years she even loved to water ski. One of her greatest pleasures was going to her monthly breakfast meetings with her “lima senior high girls” from the class of 1968. She knew how to enjoy the simple pleasures of a cup of coffee in the morning and a beer in the afternoon. Above all else, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Ruth was an exceptional woman and will be greatly missed by all those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Survivors include: spouse, Curtis E. Edwards; children, Kimberly (Christian) Reed-Mate, Chad (Kirstie) Reed, Natalie (Jarin) Edwards, Rebecca (Mikey) Stephens; Brother in law, Jon Armantrout; grandchildren, Clarissa, Sheridan (Nick), Caitlyn, Camille, Sam (Morgan), Charlene, Aidan, Cecelia, Braxton, Rylan, Ryleigh, Jeremiah, Elijah, Devyn; great-grandchildren, Alexander, Bexley, Canyon; as well as beloved canine companions, Oliver and Oscar.

Preceded in death by: parents, William Stanyer and Elizabeth Stanyer; as well as four siblings.

A public visitation will take place from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 19, 2021 at the Chiles-Laman Funeral Homes Shawnee Chapel.
