Roy “Lee” Newman Jr., age 51, passed away at 10:45 a.m. Saturday, November 13, 2021, at his home.

Lee was born November 3, 1970 in Lima, OH, to Roy Lee “Buddy” and Bonnie Jean (Core) Newman.

Lee was a 1989 graduate of Lima Senior High School. He was an avid sports fan and was obsessed with his Dallas Cowboys. Lee enjoyed playing video games, working on his pick-up truck and building bikes for the neighborhood kids. Lee especially loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his mom, Bonnie Jean Newman of Ada; long-time companion, April L. Morrisey of Lima; two children, Melissa Lynn (Tayron) Ramirez of Groves, TX and Johnathan “Bubba” Gilroy of Lima;, sister, Laura (Bob) Leiber of Alger; three nephews, Tim Ash, Jr. of Ada, Michael Ash of Alger, Jeremiah Leiber of Alger; and two nieces, Hope (Drake Fugatt) Scott of Lima, and Ashley Leiber of Alger.

He is preceded in death by his dad, Roy Lee “Buddy” Newman Sr., grandparents Bus and Alleyne Core, and uncle Skip Core.

Visitation will be from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Saturday, November 20, 2021, at CHILES – LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL.
