Ronald “Ron” W. Meeker, 73, passed away on May 23, 2022, at 3:30 am, at the Springs of Lima.
Ron was born June 10, 1948 in Pittsburgh, PA, to Earl and Lena (Montcastle) Meeker who both preceded him in death. On May 11, 1974 he married Patricia (Orr) Meeker who preceded him in death on July 9, 2012.
Ron graduated from Perry High School in 1967. He then enlisted into the United States Army, where he served in the Vietnam War and was honorable discharged after three years of service. During his last year of military service he was very proud about being stationed in Hawaii. Ron later went to the Bible Missionary Institute and received an associates degree in Theology. He enjoyed traveling the country church planting. Ron attended Lima Bible Missionary Church. Later in life he was determined in finding some of his old military friends and found joy in reconnecting with Larry Avery. Ron worked in ground maintenance at Wright Patterson Air Force Base and retired after fifteen years of service. He never knew a stranger and was so friendly to so many. Ron loved Jesus and talking to anyone and everyone about him. Ron loved his family dearly and will be missed by all that knew him.
Ron is survived by his son, David “Dave” Meeker of Lima, OH, sister, Marianne Meeker of Lima, OH, special care giver, Rebecca Eads of Lima, OH, good friend, Rodney Eads of Lima, OH, loving pet, Sweetie Pie and four feline friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at 11:00am at CHILES – LAMAN FUNERAL HOMES, EASTSIDE CHAPEL. Rev. James Massengill to officiate the service. Burial will be in Allentown Cemetery following the service.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the EASTSIDE CHAPEL.
