Ronald E Camper, 84, was called into the presence of the Lord at 9:56 am, Friday June 18th, 2021 at his home.
Ron was born June 7, 1937 in Sandusky, OH to the late Wilbur and LaDonna (Scotts) Camper. On Sept 8, 1956 he married his life long love, Joyce (Burgess) Camper.
Ron was a 1955 graduate of Shawnee High School. In 1987 he retired as Supervisor of Engineering from Ford Motor Company after 30 years of service.
Ron enjoyed spending winters in Florida and numerous other travel adventures with Joyce. He loved his family and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He shared his love for nature through many activities with family. Hiking, fishing, camping, boating, tennis, volleyball and spent hours per week nurturing his lawn. His goal each day was to bring a smile to someone’s face. He loved God and Country. Ron was a member of Perry United Methodist Church.
He is survied by his wife of 64 years, Joyce A Camper of LIma; 2 children, Kimbery A Rowland Russels Point and Rick E (Deb) Camper, Lima; 6 grandchildren Chad (Kristen) Camper, Ringold, GA; Erik (Cara) Brown, Chase (Victoria) Camper, Michael (Taylor) Camper, all of Lima; Jennifer (Mike) Fox of Waynesfield; Andrew Brown, Ft Wayne, Indiana and 13 great grandchildren, two sisters; Shirley Rohr of Lafayette and Barbara Burtchin of Bluffton; Sister In Law Faye (Phil) Fletcher and John (Rose) Burgess, both of Lima, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by Son, Mark A Camper; Brother Wilbur Camper Jr/Sister In Law Margie Camper; Brother In Laws John Rohr and Richard Burtchin; Father In Law J Howard Burgess/Mother In Law Katheryn (Prior) Burgess.
Funeral Services will begin at 2:00 p.m , Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at Chiles-Lamen Funeral Home/Shawnee Chapel. Pastor Greg Wack will officiate. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetary.
The family will receive family and friends from 10: 00 a.m – 2:00 p.m Wednesday, June 23 at Chiles/Shawnee Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to Perry United Methodist Church.
