Rollie D. Snider, age 78, passed away January 20, 2022, at 5:33 pm, at the Lima Memorial Health System. Rollie was born January 27, 1943, in Lima, OH, to Henry and Eileen (Anspaugh) Snider who preceded him in death. On January 1, 2004, he married Gayle ‘Vicki’ (Stepek) Laing-Snider who survives in Celina.
Rollie was a 1961 graduate of Lafayette High School. After high school he joined the U.S. Air Force where he worked as an aircraft mechanic. He then took a position as a electronics technician with Westinghouse where he worked for 30 years retiring in 1999. Rollie was a member of the Heidelberg Reformed Church and the NRA. He enjoyed shooting at various local gun clubs, fly-fishing, camping, being in the outdoors and tinkering in his barn.
In addition to his wife, Rollie is survived by his son, Gregory (Jennifer) Snider of Bluffton, OH, a daughter, Kimberly King of Bradenton, FL and a step-son, Matt (Diane) Laing of Van Wert, OH, 2 grandchildren: Alyssa (Mason) Snider-Lane and Aubrey Snider, 3 step-grandchildren: Paige Laing, Peyton Laing and Ruby Laing, 3 siblings: Rick (Nellie) Snider of Bellefontaine, OH, Rodney (Kathy) Snider of Lagrange, IN and Phyllis (Tom) Simmons of Bridgewater, VA. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Donna Jean Snider and a brother, Francis Snider.
There will be a graveside service and burial of cremated remains held on Friday, February 4, 2022 at 11:00 am at the Memorial Park Cemetery in the committal chapel. Officiating the service will be Rev. Denny Hunter. Military honors will be performed by the VFW #1275 and the U.S. Air Force. Memorial contributions may be made to the Allen County Veteran’s Food Pantry. The family has entrusted the CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, EASTSIDE CHAPEL in assisting them with funeral arrangements.
