Roger J. Kill, age 70, passed away on January 19, 2022, at 5:47 pm, at the Meadows of Delphos surrounded by his family. Roger was born June 19, 1951, in Lima, OH, to A. Mike Kill and Mamie E. (Louth) Kill-Hoersten who both preceded him in death. On December 16, 1977, he married Pamm (Hertel)Kill who survives in Venedocia.
Roger was a 1970 graduate of Delphos St. John’s High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard. He had worked for 44 years for Federal Mogul in VanWert, OH retiring in 2013. Roger was a member of the Delphos American Legion, Spencerville VFW and the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in VanWert, OH. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, being in the outdoors and the time spent with family and friends at Big Turkey Lake. Above all else he loved being with his family and having just “one more”.
In addition to his wife, Roger is survived by his 2 sons: Frank (Kris) Kill of Lima, OH and Travis (Meagan) Kill of VanWert, OH, 4 grandchildren: Kenyon Kill, Carolina Kill, Jaycee Kill and Kinley Kill, 4 siblings: Gloria “Sadie” Bourk of Lima, OH, David (Etta) Kill of Landeck, OH, Glen (Maggie) Kill of Landeck, OH and Phyllis “Phud” (Jim) Calvelage of Delphos, OH, a sister in-law, Deb (Dr. Rob) Adams of VanWert, OH and a brother in-law, Gary Hertel of VanWert, OH. He was preceded in death by 3 siblings: Gerald “Stoney” (Marlene) Kill, Evelyn “Evie” (Bob) Mills and Stanley Kill and a brother in-law, William “Bill” Bourk.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at 11:00 am at the St. John’s the Baptist Catholic Church in Landeck, OH. Officiating the mass will be Fr. Mike Sergi. Burial will be in the Landeck Cemetery following the service where military honors will be performed by the VFW and the U.S. Army.
Friends may visit on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL. Following calling hours there will be a parish wake service held at 8:00 pm.
