Robert Norman Toitch, age 70, passed away at 9:51 a.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at his home with the love of his family by his side.

Robert was born April 19, 1951 in Lima, OH, to the late William George and Maria Elizabeth (Kroemer) Toitch. On April 4, 1970 he married the love of his life, Cathy (Camper) Toitch.

Robert is a 1969 graduate of Lima Senior High School. He proudly served in the United States Army during Vietnam and had previously worked for Buck-Weld Supply. Robert was currently owner / operator of MAR Vending Distributors. He enjoyed flying model airplanes, was an avid woodworker and built Sand Rails and Dune Buggies. One of his favorite pastimes was the family trips to the Sand Dunes in Michigan. Most of all, Robert was a devoted husband and adored his daughters and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of almost 52 years, Cathy Toitch of Lima; two daughters, Alicia A. (James) Pencil of Quincy and Stephanie L. Toitch of Hilliard; three grandchildren, Lohren (Matthew Novak) Sullivan, Gage Eldridge and Keaton Eldridge; two brothers, Fred (Donna) Toitch of Lima, Alan Toitch of Dallas, TX, and two sisters, Linda (Ken) Crom of Buena Vista, CO, and Nansi (Rick) Crom of Pierce, CO.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Harkness.

Memorial services celebrating Robert’s life will begin at 3:00 p.m. Monday, March 28, 2022, at CHILES – LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL. Chaplain Nathan Tucker will officiate the service. Military Honors will be provided by the United States Army and VFW #1275. Entombment of cremated remains will be at a later date in Woodlawn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Monday, March 28, prior to the service at the funeral home.
