Robert Chane “Bob” Edgington, 75, of Cairo passed away at 5:18 AM on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at his residence surrounded by his family.

He was born on April 19, 1947 in Lima to Robert R. “Bob” and Constance “Connie” (Richardson) Edgington, who both preceded him in death. On September 4, 1965, he married Lois Keith, who survives in Cairo.

Bob was a graduate of Bath High School. He retired after working for over 26 years for The B&O Railroad. After retiring from the railraod, he worked for Metokote and retired after 20 years there. He was a Scout Master for over 30 years for Troop 82 in Bath and Cairo. He was a member of Lima Moose Lodge 199. Bob loved to fish and golf as well as enjoyed woodworking and building things, like the home he and Lois lived in. He was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes. But most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving in addition to his loving wife Lois Edgington of Cairo are his children Kimberly “Kim” Edgington of Cairo, Robert “Rob” (Carol) Edgington of Lima, John “Tony” (Michelle) Edgington of Bluffton and Brad (Tina) Edgington of Marysville; his thirteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; his sister Carolyn (Dan) Anderson of St. Henry.

He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law Gary Longbrake.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL, where the family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of services at 1:00 PM.

Interment in Cairo East Cemetery will immediately follow the services at the funeral home.
