Richard “Richie” Monroe Compton II, 58 of Lima, passed away May 12, 2023, at his home.

Richie was born January 25, 1965 in Lima, to Larry “Joe” Sr. and Lois (Woodall) Compton; his father survives him in Lima and his mother preceded him in death.

Richie attended Lima Senior High School and he was one of the original Compton Brothers with Compton Brothers Drywall. He graduated from Botkins Bible College in 1991 and he studiously read and studied the Bible. Richie was an avid sports fan, especially when it came to The Ohio State Buckeyes, Dallas Cowboys, Atlanta Braves and Atlanta Hawks. He loved coaching his kids in their childhood sports and he enjoyed playing golf and softball. Richie loved singing and he had a wonderful sense of humor; he loved making people laugh.

In addition to his father, Richie is survived by his children, Richard “Bud” Compton III, Shaylia Christine (Matt) Morrison, Randy Ray (Savanah) Compton, Samantha Rose Compton and Morgan Donnelly; 19 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; siblings, Betty Louise Compton, Larry “Joey” (Deb) Compton, Jr. and Jamie Ray (Jessica Rose) Compton, Sr. and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be held at 6:30 PM on Monday, May 22, 2023 at Full Gospel Temple of Love, 713 Edsel Ave, Lima, OH 45801, with Pastor Preston Knasel to officiate the service.

Visitation will be held from 4:30 PM until the time of the service at the church.
