Richard Ray Redd, 87 of Reynoldsburg, formerly of Lima, passed away October 30, 2021, at 5:00 pm at Grant Medical Center.

Ray was born October 6, 1934 in Marion, OH, to Harlie and Mary (Darling) Redd, who preceded him in death. On October 1, 1956, he married his high school sweetheart, Carolee (Hosey) Redd, who survives him in Reynoldsburg.

Ray was a 1954 graduate of LaRue High School and retired from Teledyne Ohio Steel. He was a proud United States Army Veteran and a member of Crossroads Church of God. Upon retirement, Ray owned and operated R&R Vending for 10 years and he was an avid Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes fan; he always kept a lucky buckeye in his pocket. He enjoyed going to the beach and spending winters at New Smyrna Beach in Florida. Ray proudly grew up on a farm, will be remembered for his pranks and he enjoyed word searches and cooking; he was a wonderful cook. Most of all Ray loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife of 66 years, Ray is survived by his son, Rick Redd; daughter, Linda (Brad) Thibaut; daughter-in-law, Kathy Redd; grandchildren, Ryan (MacKenzie) Redd, Taylor (Erica) Redd, Connor Redd, Corey Redd, Rachel Thibaut and Kyle Thibaut; Sisters, Ula Cooper and Donna Lee; brother, Robert “Bobby” Redd; brother-in-law, Raymond (Edith) Hosey and sisters-in-law, Faye Hickman and Gloria Ann Rumbaugh. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Donald Redd, Ruth Leibold, Marilynn Wilson and Willard Redd and his sisters-in-law, Velda Hughes and Betty Pohl.

Visitation will be Friday, November 5, 2021, from 12:00 PM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
