Richard “Pa Dick” M. Lytle, 93, passed away on December 17, 2020, at 7:50 pm, at Lost Creek Care Center, surrounded by his loving family.
Dick was born June 4, 1927 in Van Wert, OH, to Maurice and Frances (Dearwester) Lytle who both preceded him in death. On November 27, 1958 he married Winifred “Pat” (Eisler) Lytle who preceded him in death on November 16, 2009.
Dick enlisted into the United States Navy and served honorably on the USS Antietam (CG-54) during WWII. Dick was a member at St. Rose Catholic Church. He enjoyed running the church Bingo with his wife Pat for many years. Dick lived with his niece and nephew Sue and Bill for many years. He loved going to the casino, playing the lottery and traveling with his family. Dick always enjoyed spending quality time with his extended family Some of his favorite sports team included the Ohio State Buckeyes, Cincinnati Reds and New England Patriots. Dick was a member of UA Local 669 and Lima Eagles #370. He was very close with his great-great-nephew Kody Perrine, who always called him “Pa Dick” and the nickname stuck.
Dick is survived son, Daniel Lytle of Columbus, OH, and many loving nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his sister, Frances “Joan” (Edward) Kochen.
A private funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at CHILES – LAMAN FUNERAL HOMES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL. Justin Courtney to officiate the service. Entombment will be in Gethsemani Cemetery following the service.
