Phyllis J. Dietrich, age 89, was called home peacefully, at 7:31 p.m. on May 9, 2022, at Lima Memorial Health System.

Phyllis was born December 24, 1932 in Willshire, OH, to the late Edward T. and Martha (Dirkson) Gunsett. On September 26, 1954 she married Henry W. Dietrich who preceded her in death on November 2, 2005.

Phyllis was a 1951 graduate of Willshire High School. She was also a graduate of the Lima Memorial School of Nursing, where she worked before she started her family. Phyllis was a lifelong volunteer at Lima Memorial Hospital and member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She was devoted to her faith, family and friends. Phyllis was blessed with a life well lived and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by two daughters, Deborah A. (Mark S.) Williams of New Bremen, OH and Lynda K. (Stephen C.) Richards of Las Vegas, NV; son-in-law, Gary L. Cushman of Geneva, IL; five grandchildren, Sarah (Brad) Jenks, Nicholas (Kimberly) Richards, Lauren Richards, Christopher Williams and Hadley Williams; four great-grandchildren, Elijah, Josiah, and Elora Jenks, Charlotte Richards and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Rose M. Cushman; sister, Barbara J. Dangler; three brothers-in-law, Carl Dietrich, Edgar Dietrich, Adolph Dietrich and sister-in-law, Emma Gerken.

Funeral services will begin at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, May 14, 2022, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 2120 Lakewood Ave, Lima, OH 45805. Pastor Michael Phillips will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Schumm Cemetery.

The family will receive friends and family from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, prior to the service at the church.
