Percy L. Whiteside Jr., age 65, passed away October 3, 2022, at 2:00 pm, in Lima, OH. Percy was born January 18, 1957, in Lima, OH, to the late Percy L. Whiteside Sr. and Betty J. (Whiteside) Cash. He had been married to Connie F. Whiteside who preceded him in death.
Percy is survived by his children: Percy Whiteside III, Cora L. Jackson and Tenetta Whiteside all of Lima, OH, Chasity Whiteside, Cresmia “Ree” Whiteside and Tessa Whiteside all of Florence, AL, Nevaeh Whiteside of Dayton, OH and a special son, Sgt. Major LeVares Jackson of Columbus, GA, a special granddaughter, Tayshajze Turner, 24 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, siblings: Oneal Kelly and Lisa Kelly both of AL, Jean Springer of Lima, OH, Annette (Melvin Ester) Young of Thomasville, GA, Patrice Whiteside, Robert (Robin) Whiteside and Willie Whiteside all of Lima, OH, Douglas Whiteside of Columbus, OH, Gideon Demonde (Erica) Cash of Lima, OH and Melissa (Sr. Chief Petty Officer Brian) Thomas of Jacksonville, FL. He was preceded in death by a son, Tavares Meeks and a brother, James Whiteside.
Percy had attended Perry High School where he was very athletic. He was an excellent cook and he loved watching sports of all types. Most of all he loved spending time with friends and family, especially his grandchildren.
There will be a funeral service held on Friday, October 14, 2022 at 12 noon at the CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, EASTSIDE CHAPEL. Officiating the service will be Rev. Wayne Scott. Burial of cremated remains will be held privately at a later date.
Friends may visit on Friday from 10am until 12 noon at the EASTSIDE CHAPEL. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist the family with funeral expenses. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.chiles-lamanfh.com.
