Paul W. “Pete” McPheron, age 84, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family at 7:41 am Monday, January 4, 2021.
Pete was born September 19, 1936 in Lima, OH, to the late Ellis and Helen (Wilson) McPheron. On December 14, 1954 he married the love of his life, Donna L (Robinson) McPheron.
Pete retired from The Ford Motor Company, Lima Engine Plant after 30 years. Prior to that he worked at the Parking Lot, uptown Lima. He loved both jobs almost as much as he loved the Kewpee. He will be remembered for his endless jokes and giving heart. Pete loved being a dad and grandpa and took great pride in taking care of his family. The Village of Elida will remember him for his refrigerator full of pop for all the neighbors and his Friday night pizza parties after football games. Pete was a lifelong fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and was able to spend one of his final evenings with his family watching the Buckeyes beat Clemson. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Donna L McPheron of Elida. Together they raised two amazing children, Kim Evans who preceded him in death on November 24, 2007 and Jeffrey McPheron who survives in Troy.
Other survivors include four grandchildren, Greg (Tina) Evans of Lima, Jenny(Ben) Frail of Lima, Matthew (Alexandra) McPheron of Centerville, Emily (Ryan Sanders) McPheron of Lexington, SC; and three great-grandchildren, Mason, Olivia, Rosalee and one on the way.
Private services for family and close friends will begin at 11:00 am Thursday, January 7, 2021, at CHILES – LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL. Burial will follow in Osborn Cemetery, Columbus Grove.
