On April 2, 2021, at 7:37pm, Paul Eugene Williams, age 86, passed away peacefully at his home.

Paul was born February 17, 1935, to George and Mary Williams, who preceded him in death. On June 22, 1958, Paul married Nancy A. Pence, who survives. Paul was an Army veteran who proudly served his country from January of 1958-December of 1959. While in the Army, Paul was stationed in Germany and drove tanks, which he often spoke of with great enthusiasm. Prior to being honorably discharged, Paul earned the rank of SPC 4. Paul’s professional life included working as a machinist/grinder at Teledyne/Whemco in Lima until his retirement, and working on his family’s farm. He also worked part time at Springbrook golf course.

Paul loved to golf and watch his favorite sports teams. He could always be found outside working in his yard or garden or “puttering” as he called it, and enjoyed good health into his 80’s. Paul loved going to breakfast with his friends once a week, and the “old man” breakfast with his brothers, sons, and nephews. His grandchildren were one of the greatest joys of his life. He dearly loved his wife, his children and his grandchildren. There was nothing he would not have done to help any of them with whatever they needed, whenever they needed it. He has created a legacy of love and generosity.

Paul loved the Lord and gave his heart to Jesus in 1982. He is a member of Lima Community Church of the Nazarene, where in his younger years, he served on the church board, was an adult Sunday School teacher, and helped with various projects and events. We know he is now in the arms of his Savior, is able to walk easily again and catch up with his family & friends that have gone on before him.

Paul is survived by his wife Nancy, his children, Kenneth (Julie) Williams of Ft. Wayne IN, Paula Williams of Columbus Grove, and Michele (Tim) Grigsby of Columbus Grove, six grandchildren Vanessa, Cassie, Justin, Alex, Haley, and Emily, and a great-granddaughter, Maggie Jo (aka “pistol” as he coined her). Paul is also survived by his brothers Gale Williams of Lima, & Duane (Sharon) Williams of Findlay.

Paul was also preceded in death by two brothers, Jim Williams & Glen Williams, a sister & brother in law Georgia “Ruth” (Bob) Repasz, and sisters in law Joyce Williams and Charlotte Williams.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at the Chiles-Laman Funeral Homes Shawnee Chapel. A public visitation will take place on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., also at the Shawnee Chapel. Burial will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery following the service. Pastor Brad Taylor will officiate the service. Memorial contributions may be made out to Lima Community Church of the Nazarene.
