Pamela Jean Niemeyer, 74, of Elida died of complications following heart surgery on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center. A lifelong resident of Lima, Pam was born on August 19, 1948 to Alexander and Dorothy Rigg. She graduated from Elida High School in 1966 and attended Northwestern Business College where she met her husband, Roger. They married on October 5, 1968 and moved into the home they built together in Allentown.

Pam and Roger opened Allentown Nursery in 1972, and as co-owner, Pam handled the bookkeeping, ordering, and invoicing. Over the decades that Allentown Nursery has been in business, Pam developed many close relationships and friendships with her customers. Pam was also a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother who loved spending time with her family. Pam adored her home and delighted in taking walks to the woods with Roger, watching birds from her window, and relaxing while reading a good book. Pam was preceded in death by her parents and is survived and deeply missed by her husband, daughter, granddaughter, and daughter-in-law.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Chiles – Laman Funeral Homes, Shawnee Chapel in Lima. The family wishes to thank the ICU staff at Mercy Health for their compassionate and excellent care. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
