Mr. Newsam Julien a.k.a Aldwin, age 84 passed from this life Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at approximately 7:00pm at his residence surrounded by family.
Mr. Julien was born Thursday, December 31, 1936 in Trinidad Tobago West Indies (W.I.) to Alfred and Irene (Woods) Julien. Both parents preceded him in death.
Mr. Julien retired from Local 776 in Lima, Ohio as a Pipefitter Welder.
Mr. Julien traveled the world providing his services as a tradesman. He enjoyed playing cards and playing lottery. He was an avid Lakers and Ohio State fan. He was a very generous, rich with knowledge and history. His presence will be sorely missed.
He leaves to cherish his memory four sons, Sid Julien of Atlanta, GA, Jamie Potter of Lima, OH, Lennox Hartman and Nicholas Mayhew both of Trinidad W.I.; Nine daughters, Patricia “Trish” Julien, Nakita Sims, Teresa (Randy) Dancer all of Lima, OH, Denise (Ian) Forde, Cory Hartman, Cathy-Ann (Floyd) Hartman-Wilson, Esther Mitchell all of Trinidad, WI, Karen (William) Reynolds of Columbus, OH and Lisa Potter of Fort Wayne, IN; a brother, Christopher Julien of Trinidad, W.I.; 18 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; best friends (like brothers), Peter Maloney of Brooklyn, NY, Carlie (Bettye) Procope of Joliet, IL, and Horace Cuffy of Lima, OH; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by two daughters, Joy L. Julien and Denise Mitchell; one brother, Hoadley Julien; two sisters, Ivy Jackson and Joyce Julien.
Funeral services will begin at 12:00 pm Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at CHILES – LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL. Pastor Anita Payton will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
