Naomi Jean Mayo, 91 of Lima, passed away July 3, 2021, at 8:33 AM at Lima Memorial Health Systems.
Naomi was born April 8, 1930 in Piqua, OH, to Chauncy and Sylvia (Black) Boroff, who preceded her in death. On April 26, 2019 she married Robert Mayo, who survives her in Lima.
Naomi was a 1948 graduate of Piqua High School, for many years, she worked as medical clerk in multiple doctor’s offices and medical facilities and she worked briefly in the deli at Ray’s. Naomi attended school to become a realtor, was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and was very involved in the Shriner’s Children Hospital; she loved their parades. She enjoyed cross stitching, gardening, and was an avid shopper who loved shoes, diamonds and pocket books; she loved to sparkle and took pride in being fashionable. Naomi loved music and dancing; she was the life of the party. She loved to travel, spend time with her family and her beloved dog, Ollie, who would get his nightly marshmallows. Most of all, she will be greatly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
In addition to her husband, Naomi is survived by her daughters, Pamela Sue (Rodger) Cook-Wauben, Terry Jean (Manny) Elizondo and Jennifer Lynn Finn; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brother, Daniel “Danny” (Barbara) Boroff and his sister, Deloris Caven.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters, Geraldine Boroff, Priscilla Dapore, Margaret Pierce and Elizabeth Patty; brother, David Boroff; daughter, Elaine Estelle Protsman and her son, Walter “Wally” William Cook.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES – SHAWNEE CHAPEL. Burial will immediately follow in Fairmount Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home. Visitation will come to a close with an Order of the Eastern Star service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Shriner’s Children’s Hospital.
