Miriam L. Martin, age 84 of Lima, passed away Thursday, Dec. 24, 2020, at 5:15 p.m. at Kenton Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Miriam was born Aug. 10, 1936 in Lima, to Ora and Laura (Woten) Martin who preceded her in death. On Aug. 10, 1953 she married Thomas Martin who survives.

Surviving are their children: John Thomas Martin of Lima and Shanda Lynne (Alan) Koehler of Purcellville, VA; and grandchildren: Savannah Koehler and Mason (Denise) Koehler.

She is also preceded in death by a brother, Gene Teeple.

She was a longtime member of Shawnee Alliance Church. She retired from the Cerebral Palsy Clinic at Lima Memorial. She was a lover of animals, feeding squirrels and blue jays out of her hand. She was an artist and craftswoman including doing folk painting, including crocheting hats, booties and slippers. She was an excellent swimmer and a fantastic cook. She and her husband owned The Pantry in the American Mall and had worked at Clemen’s Bakery. She was a volunteer at The Soup Kitchen.

Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Home Health Care and Hospice or Kenton Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

There will be a family memorial service at a future date.
