Michael L. Weldy, 77, passed away at 7:00 pm, August 16, 2022, at his residence.

He was born March 16, 1945 in Lima to William A. and Oneetah L. (Moree) Weldy who preceded him in death.

Mike was a shift foreman and firefighter for the Lima Refinery for 30 years and then worked as a consultant for an additional 16 years. He was a US Marine Veteran during the Vietnam War. He graduated from Shawnee High School in 1963. He loved watching sprint car racing, riding his motorcycle, and shooting at the Delphos Gun Club.

Survivors include: a Daughter, Amanda (Jeff Anderson) Weldy of Fruit Heights, UT; a Son, Jeff (Robin) Weldy of Independence, KY; a Granddaughter, Lila Weldy; a Sister, Virginia L. (H. Robert) Laman of Lima.

He was preceded in death by: 2 Brothers, William A. (Janice) Weldy Jr., Joel M. (Sharon) Weldy; a Sister, Linda A. (David) Bowsher.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES SHAWNEE CHAPEL. Military Honors will be conducted by VFW Post 1275 and the US Marine Corp at 6:00 pm Wednesday at Shawnee Chapel.
