Meredith “Kay” Workman, 82 of Lima, passed away March 23, 2022, at Lima Memorial Health System, surrounded by her loving family.
Kay was born November 8, 1939, in Lima to George and Mabel (Ballinger) Kuhn, who preceded her in death.
Kay was a 1957 graduate of Lima Central High School and studied Business at Ohio Northern University. She worked for Lima City in the Water Department and as the Business Manager at Constructioneers for many years until her retirement in 2019. Kay was an avid member of Elm Street Church of the Brethren where she played the piano and enjoyed being very involved in every aspect of the church. Kay had a wonderful sense of humor and was the life of the party. She had a very compassionate and non-judgmental soul; animals held a special place in her heart, especially her cats. Kay was the neighborhood grandma and, to this day, those kids still call her “Grandma Kay”. She often spent time with her sister, whom she dearly loved. Kay took great pleasure in going on adventures with her daughter, Debbie, who was her best friend. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; she loved them deeply and they were her whole world. Above all, she loved and honored the Lord with all of her heart. Kay will be deeply missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her, especially her family, church and rehab friends and special companion.
Kay is survived by her daughters, Deborah Faye Guyer and Susan Raines; grandchildren,Tasha Guyer, Aimee` (Daniel) Tully and Joshua (Shanna) Raines; great-grandchildren, Mason Raines, Ava Guyer, Adrienne Tully and Brienne Tully; sister, Marilyn Patterson; son-in-law, Charles Guyer; niece, Pamela (Jerry) Burkholder, nephew, Terry (Vicki) Patterson; great-nephew, Chris Burkholder; great-niece, Joy Burkholder and her great-great-nieces, Chelsea Sophia Burkholder.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a great-grandchild and her brother-in-law, Robert Patterson.
Burial will be held at a later date in Lafayette Cemetery.
