Mary E. Barnes-Black, age 78, passed away December 10, 2021, at 5:00 am, at Otterbein in Cridersville. Mary was born June 24, 1943, in McGuffey, OH, to Wesley and Orine (Hollon) Starkey who preceded her in death.
Mary was a 1961 graduate of Upper Scioto Valley High School. Through the years she had worked for the Wilson Football Factory in Ada and then she also owned her own Marathon Gas station in Lima. Most recently she had worked for Northland Lanes as a cook/bartender from which she retired. Mary was an avid bowler and bowled in many different leagues including Northland and other area leagues.
Mary is survived by her son, Michael (Melissa) Barnes of Lima, OH, 2 step-daughters: Melba (Frank) Barnes and Hope (Larry) Craft both of Gadsden, AL, a granddaughter, Ireland Barnes, 3 step-granddaughters: Lauren (Adam) Bondrowski, Brianne Harvey and Morgan Harvey and 2 brothers: Wesley Starkey Jr. and Gordan (Bonnie) Starkey both of Morristown, AZ. She was preceded in death by her previous husband, Daniel Barnes, a brother, Russell Starkey and a sister, Diane (David) Parkins.
According to Mary’s wishes there will not be services at his time. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
