Mary Alice “Honey” Nance, 71 of Lima, passed away December 29, 2020, at Lima Memorial Health System.

Honey was born January 3, 1949 in Canton, MS, to Jewel Hayes and Hazel (Wright) Spence, who preceded her in death. In 1965, she married George Nance, Sr., who preceded her in death.

Honey worked as a production manager at Airfoil and she enjoyed fishing, playing cards and cooking; she was a wonderful cook. Honey enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Honey is survived by her children, Daphne (Leonard) Nance-Williams, George Nance, Jr., Vergil (Angelique Suarez) Nance and Jeffery (LaToya) Nance; 17 grandchildren, including her special grandson, Lamar Nance; 33 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; niece, Theresa Hayes and her special friend, Sam McLauren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her brother, Johnny Lee Hayes, her grandson, Desmond Nance and her nephew, Christopher Lloyd.

Homegoing services will be held at 1:00 PM on January 5, 2021 at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, EASTSIDE CHAPEL with Pastor Genevieve Benson to officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery following the service.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 5, 2021, from 11:00 am until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to assist the family with funeral expenses.
