Mark A. Carey, age 59, passed away October 25, 2022, at 11:28 am, at his residence. Mark was born March 21, 1963, in Lima, OH, to Benson K. and Joyce E. (Kisner) Carey. His father survives in Lafayette and his mother preceded him in death. On December 21, 1991, he married Loraine R. (Mullen) Carey who survives in Lima. Mark is also survived by his son, Trenton (Caitlyn) Carey of Middletown, OH and a brother, Steven (Becky) Carey of Alger, OH.
Mark was a 1981 graduate of Allen East High School. He had also attended trade school with the IBEW Local #32 in their apprenticeship program where he became a certified electrician. He worked with the union for 18 years until he took a job with General Dynamics as a high voltage electrician. He loved coaching his son’s baseball teams as he was going through school. He also enjoyed fishing and deer hunting.
There will be a funeral service held on Monday, October 31, 2022 at 2:00 pm at the CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, EASTSIDE CHAPEL. Officiating the service will be Rev. Tom Dearth. Burial of cremated remains will be held privately at a later date in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may visit on Sunday from 2-5 pm at the EASTSIDE CHAPEL. Memorial contributions may be made to Hunting With Heroes which benefits disabled veterans with hunting programs. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.chiles-lamanfh.com.
