Marjorie “Marj” J. Coby, age 100 of Lima, passed away with grace as she lived her life, with her loving family by her side on Friday, December 23, 2022 at 10:31 a.m.
She was born October 7, 1922 in Lima, to Harold M. and Alvena M. (Knerr) Wagner who preceded her in death. On October 17, 1941 she married William L. Coby who preceded her in death on June 11, 2007.
Survivors include her children: Gary L. (Kay) Coby and Kathie L. (Theodore) Metzger both of Lima, Karen S. (Daniel) Booren of Kemah, TX and Teresa A. (Bruce) Fuhrman of Lima; grandchildren: Kelly Coby (Verne) Peake, Douglas (Bryn) Coby, Greg (Heather) Coby, Tad (Janette) Metzger, Kimberly (Michael) Corona, April (Terry) Hardy, Tammi (Harry) Larschied, Amanda (Jay) Fenwick, Kristi (Michael) Orchard, Kymbrly (Dennis) Fuhrman Gallagher and Brian (Tara) Fuhrman; great-grandchildren: Lindsey (Joshua) Radford, Jonathon (fiancee Emily Brodbeck) Hardy, Zachary Peake, Justin Peake, Russell Orchard, Vivian Orchard, Daniel Orchard, Gabriella Larschied, Grace-Anne Larschied, Alexa Gallagher, Jacob (Adela) Gallagher, Brydon Fuhrman, Wilhelmina Fuhrman, Lola Coby, Ella Coby, Jillian Coby, Delaney Metzger, Nolan Metzger, Peri Metzger and Peyton Fenwick; and great-great-grandchildren: Jena Radford, Jase Radford, Astella Gallagher and Adelita Gallagher; plus her longtime friend and neighbor, Norman Monfort. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Carolyn (Bob) Snyder and her sons, Steven (Debbie) Wagner, Marty (Earlene) Wagner and Linda Wagner.
She is preceded in death by a brother, Jack Wagner, a son-in-law, Theodore Metzger, a granddaughter, April May Hardy and a nephew, Joe Wagner.
Marj was a graduate of Lima South High School. She was the owner of Margie’s Beauty Shoppe, retiring after 48 years. She was a 55 year life member of VFW Post 1275 Auxiliary, Allen County Museum, Senior Citizens and Immanuel Lutheran Church. She was the treasurer for many years for The Wagner Dental Laboratory, owned by her father. She was very active ?in Lincoln Elementary School, South Junior High and Lima Senior P.T.A.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, December. 30, 2022 at the Shawnee Chapel of Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, with Pastor Nathan Tucker to officiate the service. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service Friday.
